MODRICA - The 25th anniversary of the breakthrough of the Corridor of Life, the most important victory of the Republika Srpska Army in the patriotic-defence war, will be marked On Sunday, June 25, in Duga Njiva near Modrica, the president of the Republika Srpska Government’s Subcommittee for marking important historical events, Velimir Dunjic, has said.

BANJALUKA – Republika Srpska military war invalids will get a full amount of money for the purchase of orthopaedic devices from the relevant ministry instead by way of the Republika Srpska Health Insurance Fund, as was done before, said the Republika Srpska Minister of Labour and Veterans’ Affairs, Milenko Savanovic.

BANJALUKA – A law on a solidarity fund for treatment of children abroad who cannot be treated in Srpska should be adopted, said Sinisa Maksimovic, a member of the Republika Srpska Parliament’s Committee on Health Care, Labour and Social Policy.

BANJALUKA – A history lesson will be organised tomorrow in Donja Gradina for best students from Kossovo and Metohija who are on a visit to Srpska as part of the programme called “Connect children from Kossovo and Republika Srpska.”

PRIJEDOR – Prijedor Mayor Milenko Djakovic today organised a reception for 45 elementary school students from Kossovo and Metohija and their hosts, students of the Jovan Cvijic Elementary School.

NOVI GRAD – Students and teachers from Leposavic, Lesce and Socanica from Kossovo and Metohija, who arrived in Novi Grad as part of the project called “Connect Children from Kossovo and Republika Srpska,” are satisfied with the reception in this municipality and hope for a return visit.

UGLJEVIK – The Head of Ugljevik Municipality, Vasilije Peric, and the president of the Ugljevik Municipal Assembly, Djoko Simic, today organised a reception for best secondary school students from this municipality.

PALE – The Head of Pale Municipality, Bosko Jugovic, has said that the local government, the Red Cross and owners of Pale companies are motivated to help the construction of a house for single mother Zeljka Pavlovic and her three minor daughters, and that he expects that their home will be completed before winter.

BANJALUKA – The Krakus Ensemble of Poland is the winner of the 10th International Festival of Culture, Dukatfest. Members of this ensemble and ensembles from Indonesia and Puerto Rico today left Banjaluka for Trebinje where they will transfer positive energy from this Festival.

VISEGRAD – A two-day scientific conference called “Serbian written heritage and history of medieval Bosnia and Hum,” which gathered around 30 renowned scientists, academicians and professors, began today at the Andric Institute.

VISEGRAD – The Visegrad regatta, where around 300 participants are expected to take part, will be held on July 1, the director of the Visegrad Tourism Organisation, Olivera Todorovic told SRNA.

BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA

SARAJEVO – A report on a possible failure to meet obligations from the widened arrangement with the IMF at the level of joint BiH institutions should be discussed by the BiH Fiscal Council at its upcoming meeting having in mind that a proposed bill amending the law on salaries and benefits, which stipulates the increase of a coefficient for police officers in BiH institutions, was sent to Parliament, SRNA has learned.

SARAJEVO – The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Mladen Ivanic, has sent a telegram of condolence to the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on the occasion of deaths of dozens of people in forest fires in that country.

SARAJEVO – Participants of the 8th parliamentary security-intelligence forum, which was held in Riga, concluded that protection of institutions and interests of a country is needed, stressing the importance of responsibility of institutions which act to prevent potential perpetrators from committing terrorist acts.

DRVAR – Only 30 children enrolled in the first grade in Drvar and the village of Prekaja, which is almost seven times less than in the period before the war.

BELGRADE – At the moment, there are between 6,000 and 7,000 refugees from the Near East in Serbia, including 3,000 children, 982 of whom are unaccompanied, said the State Secretary in Serbia’s Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Nenad Ivanisevic.

GRACANICA – A jury of this year’s “Vidovdan’s Poet Vigil” unanimously decided to award Zlata Kocic of Belgrade with “the Golden Tsar Lazar’s Cross” for her literary work, and to award writer Ranko Risojevic of Banjaluka with the Gracanica Charter.
