PENDAROVSKI PRAISED SRPSKA’S ECONOMIC GROWTH AND SUPPORTED FORMATION OF COUNCIL OF MINISTERS

 

SKOPJE, JANUARY 27 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski discussed the current situation in the two countries and the region, stressing the need to strengthen co-operation in all fields.

 

Pendarovski praised the economic growth in Republika Srpska, adding it would certainly be reflected in the better standard of living of its residents.

He supported the formation of the Council of Ministers and voiced confidence that the operation of the authorities at the BiH level would certainly contribute to the economic development of BiH and its entities, Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.

European path of both North Macedonia and BiH were also discussed at the meeting.

Dodik presented a book by Gideon Greif "Jasenivac: Auschwitz of the Balkans – Ustasha Empire of Cruelty" to Pendarovski and invited him to visit Republika Srpska on April 26 to attend the marking of the 75th anniversary of Jasenovac Camp Breakthrough.

Following the talks with Pendarovski, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, who today began a two-day visit to Skopje, will attend the St. Sava ceremony at 7:00 pm, where he will be awarded the highest recognition of the Serb people in North Macedonia - the St Sava Charter.

The decision on awarding this grand recognition was unanimously adopted by the Organising Committee for marking national holiday of Serbs in North Macedonia, "St Sava Week 2020", at the proposal of the Serb community in that country.

The St Sava Charter is awarded to Dodik for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of the Serb national issue throughout the region and for his significant contribution to the preservation of Serbism and Serb culture and tradition in Macedonia.

This high recognition is given to the leader of the Serbs in Republika Srpska also for his commitment to establishing unity within the Serb people in general and to establishing good co-operation and understanding between Srpska and North Macedonia.

The address of the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, as well as of the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Oliver Spasovski, is scheduled at the St Sava ceremony, while Professor Darko Tanasković is expected to deliver the sermon on St Sava.

Following the St Sava ceremony, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency should attend an official dinner with prominent figures from the public and social life of North Macedonia.

Tomorrow, on the second day of his visit to Skopje, Dodik will visit the village of Kučevište-Skopska Crna Gora, where he will be welcomed by the head of the Serb Cultural, Educational and Information Centre, Bogoljub Ninić.

After his address, Dodik and Ninić will attend a cultural and artistic programme at the elementary school "Cyril and Methodius" in Kučevište. /end/vos
