BANJALUKA, APRIL 3 /SRNA/ - Serb BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik expressed satisfaction that Republika Srpska managed to provide equipment from Germany for a mobile hospital and stressed that the purchase of equipment for the fight against the coronavirus was a good move by the Republika Srpska government.

After he welcomed the first airplane from Germany at Mahovljani Airport, Dodik told reporters that the Republika Srpska Government in the first days of the coronavirus outbreak decided to purchase a mobile hospital which was paid BAM 3.6 million, plus VAT.

“Parts for the hospital are arriving this evening, the second shipment will arrive tomorrow and everything else will arrive in a few days,” said Dodik.

He has said that the mobile hospital will have 50 intensive care units and 400 beds for less severe cases, and that it has its own generator, internal water and heating systems, which are necessary for such a capacity.

“After it is set up, hospital will cover 6,000 sq m and will have all conditions and medical equipment as a regular hospital,” Dodik said.

He has said that it will be possible to later use the hospital, which is owned by the Republika Srpska Government, and it will be put in a warehouse of the Republika Srpska Commodity Reserves.

“It will be used for the needs of the current epidemic if necessary, or, God forbid, in some other situations,” Dodik said.

He expressed satisfaction that Republika Srpska managed to provide equipment for the mobile hospital, adding that this was very difficult as it was not enough only to pay for it, but also provide for documents needed for the export.

Dodik has said that the hospital was procured as Republika Srpska decided so in an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and for the need to provide for appropriate accommodation for people. /end/sg
