BiH MUST MAKE DECISIONS AUTONOMOUSLY, DODIK AND PUTIN TO MEET BY YEAR’S END

EAST SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 29 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov have agreed that time of the international rule personified in the OHR passed and that BiH must make decisions on its future autonomously and independently.

In a telephone conversation, Dodik thanked Lavrov for the principled policy the Russian Federation has conducted in BiH, wishing him good health as he began to self-isolate two days ago because he was in contact with a person infected with the coronavirus, which is why he had to postpone his visit to BiH and Republika Srpska.

“The Serb member of the BiH Presidency expressed special gratitude for the support of the Russian Federation to the Dayton Peace Accords, which anniversary will be marked in BiH in less than a month,” says a press release.

Dodik informed Lavrov of pressures put on Republika Srpska in connection with requests to waive protection mechanisms by way of the entity and ethnic veto for the sake of the EU integration, saying that Republika Srpska will never waive them.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Dayton Accords, the Russian Foreign Minister once again expressed full support of the Russian Federation to the Accords and all the decisions Republika Srpska made in keeping with it.

Lavrov has confirmed that a meeting between Dodik and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is being prepared and should be held by the end of the year.

The Russian Foreign Minister has announced the opening of a department of the Russian Embassy in Banjaluka and the opening of two cultural centers – one in Banjaluka in Republika Srpska and the other one in the Federation of BiH.

Dodik has reiterated that Republika Srpska does not want to join NATO.

Also, they discussed the purchase of Russian vaccines and Republika Srpska will be able to buy around 250,000 doses by the New Year.

Regarding the upcoming local elections, Minister Lavrov wished much success to the Serb member of the BiH Presidency and his party, the SNSD. /end/sg
