LACK OF CENTRAL RECORD ENABLES MALVERSATION

EAST SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 3 /SRNA/ - At a meeting with Minister of Human Rights and Refugees in the Council of Ministers Miloš Lučić, representatives of the Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Soldiers and Missing Civilians of the Sarajevo-Romanija Region said today that the lack of a central record of missing Serbs is a key problem which enables malversation.

President of the Organizational Committee of Municipal Organizations of Families of Captured and Missing Civilians of the Sarajevo-Romanija Region Goran Timotij has said that back in 2008, a decision was made to establish a central record.

“The decision was made to establish a record back in 2008, and it has not yet been done. Families suspect malversation,” Timotija said.

Timotija has pointed out that the search for missing Serbs in the area of Sarajevo and surrounding places has almost stopped and that indictments have not been issued for persons who are responsible for the disappearances of Serbs.

He has said that it was agreed at the meeting today in East Sarajevo that they should try to resolve problems together with Serb representatives in BiH institutions.

Minister Lučić has said that this was the first meeting and that they will try to resolve problems of families of victims in cooperation with all government levels.

He has noted that 394 persons from that region are still being searched for, including 178 from Sarajevo. /end/sg
