PATRIARCH IRINEJ: FIGHT HORRIBLE INJUSTICE WITH UNITY AND WORK

BELGRADE, November 24 /SRNA/ - Serbian Patriarch Irinej says the Hague Tribunal verdict to General Ratko Mladic is a result of the power wielders’ “devil’s work” and that Serbs can confront the horrible injustice only by staying busy and standing united.

“By taking care of ourselves, standing united, keeping busy and minding our own business. There’s no other way,” said Patriarch Irinej.

He told the Belgrade daily Alo this was not the first time it turned out only Serbs were to blame for everything and others remained innocent.

“One more Serb has been convicted in The Hague. We knew Ratko Mladic would be convicted and that everything would play out this way. Unfortunately, we can’t do anything about it,” said the patriarch.

“This is all happening because the many global power wielders are doing the devil’s work and we are suffering the consequences,” he added.

The Hague Tribunal sentenced the former Commander of the Army of Republika Srpska Main Staff, General Ratko Mladic to life in prison on November 22. /end/ds
