BANJALUKA, September 23 /SRNA/ - President of Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović emphasised on Monday that chances for Republika Srpska’s development lie in education and that young generations should be guided to gain knowledge required for professions of the future and adapted to the contemporary needs of the labour market.


During a meeting with USAID Mission Director for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nancy Eslick, Cvijanović voiced full support to the Agency’s programmes carried out in Republika Srpska, especially regarding projects in education and programmes encouraging entrepreneurship in youth.

Cvijanović added that Republika Srpska’s institutions were firmly committed to a reform of the education system for the purpose of improvement and modernisation, reports the Srpska president’s office.

The officials discussed the current activities the USAID Missions carries out in Republika Srpska, with the special emphasis on the programmes related to education, including the Enhancing and Advancing Basic Learning and Education project in BiH, which develops STEM /science, technology, engineering, and math/ competencies.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Education and Culture Natalija Trivić and Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society, Srđan Rajčević. /end/dš
