SRPSKA IN OFFENSIVE AGAINST NEO-COLONIAL POLITICS

BELGRADE, NOVEMBER 12 /SRNA/ - Political analyst Dragomir Anđelković told SRNA today that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has acted correctly by adopting the Information on unconstitutional transformation of Dayton-based BiH, as something that results from violence and neo-colonial politics must not gain legitimacy and become a constant.

"It is important for Republika Srpska to insist on the original Dayton Peace Agreement and not to do anything that threatens it. But if pressures continue on Srpska, it must be ready to fight consistently for the rights of the Serb people and for its interests to be protected," Anđelković believes.

He points out that this is not only Serb people’s right, but a part of democratic values.

Anđelković points out the democratic principles imply that citizens decide on their fate by themselves instead of some neo-colonial governors doing it for them, as in the 19th century in Africa and Asia.

"It is therefore important that Srpska has embarked on a counter-attack seeking the abolition of the OHR and other neo-colonial institutions that have been illegally imposed on BiH," Anđelković said.

He noted that, according to the original Dayton regime, BiH is a confederation of two entities and three peoples, who are on an equal footing.

"However, after Dayton, BiH was facing a centralization policy, a kind of occupational seizure of powers from the entities. It was the OHR that was implementing the Sarajevo’s war objectives in peace time," Anđelković says.

He points out that the process has already severely damaged Republika Srpska, which, fortunately, has been able to stop it for the last ten years, both because of its strengthening and due to changed international circumstances.

But there is still a shadow of centralization hovering over Republika Srpska, with various Western circles standing behind it," said Anđelković, who is also the director of the Responsible Politics Forum.

According to him, those who are guarantors of the Dayton Peace Agreement were often exactly the same factors that supported centralization.

He points out that the West first stood behind Dayton, then tried to make it senseless, and notes that, from a moral point of view, it is important for Republika Srpska to change the situation, although it would not produce results in practice.

"But it is important that every day, month, Srpska repeats these demands, to insist, to animate the world public in this direction and, ultimately, if pressures continue, to be unilaterally prepared to restore all the competences that belong to it," Anđelković believes.

The National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted early this morning the Information on unconstitutional transformation of the Dayton structure of BiH and its impact on the position and rights of Srpska, and issued 20 conclusions stating, among other things, that it would respond to all illegal and unconstitutional acts and activities by local and international factors aimed at toppling and amending the Dayton Accords.

The Republika Srpska National Assembly requires signatories and witnesses to the Dayton Peace Agreement, as well as all international community representatives to react to the adoption of documents calling for the dissolution of the Dayton Peace Agreement, as well as to any activity contrary to its provisions and principles, and to enable the necessary initiation of procedures to bring BiH, Republika Srpska and the FBiH back within the framework of this international treaty. /end/vos
