BANJALUKA, SEPTEMBER 24 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President, Željka Cvijanović, has stated that the BiH Constitutional Court's decision trying to challenge the Republika Srpska's ownership over forests is a coup d'etat and another anti-Dayton attack on Srpska and its constitutionally defined competencies.

Reacting to the latest decision by the Constitutional Court of BiH, which established that certain provisions of the Law on Republika Srpska Forests are not in accordance with the Constitution of BiH, in the part which reads that forests are owned by Srpska, Cvijanović points out that an unconstitutional attempt to gradually centralize BiH by the institution for which the Dayton Constitution should have been sacred, irreversibly destroys both the trust among the peoples of BiH and the very foundations on which it rests.

"What kind of regulated legal state can we talk about if the institution in charge of protecting constitutionality continuously violates this principle on which all modern and organized countries of the world rest," the president of Srpska asked.

She emphasized that respecting the constitutional order of BiH, as well as its highest legal act, Republika Srpska is obliged to protect its property and return things to the constitutional framework by appropriate decisions of its institutions, repairing the damage caused by high representatives or the Constitutional Court of BiH. /end/vos
