VIŠKOVIĆ: SACRED PLACE WHERE SRPSKA ACHIEVED FULL CONTINUITY
MODRIČA, JUNE 22 /SRNA/ – The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković stated at Duga Njiva near Modriča that this is a sacred place where life triumphed over death, and where Republika Srpska was created and achieved its full continuity.
“In a short time, an army that had been isolated, managed, through its own strength and determination, to secure a connection between Srpska Krajina, the western part of Republika Srpska, the east, and Serbia. Not a single violation of the Geneva Convention was committed, and no crimes were committed,” said Višković. He added that many heroes inscribed their names in golden letters into the history of warfare and defense of the Serb people during the Corridor breakthrough. The Prime Minister emphasized that ‘Corridor 92’ is the most successful military operation, one that is studied at many military academies today. “Today, we celebrate the victory of life over death here, the victory of Srpska over its enemies… Here, life overcame death, good overcame evil, and here Republika Srpska was either created or achieved its full continuity,” Višković told reporters at Duga Njiva, where the 33rd anniversary of the corridor breakthrough was commemorated. He pointed out that those who lecture Republika Srpska today were the same ones who ignored the cries of the Serb people in 1992, when innocent babies died at the Clinical Center in Banja Luka due to a lack of oxygen. “That’s when the Army of Republika Srpska made the only possible decision — to break through the corridor. It was rightfully called the ‘Corridor of Life’, which it truly was,” Višković said. He emphasized that the same struggle continues today — to preserve Srpska, its territory, freedom, integrity, and institutions. Višković noted that the architects of the Dayton Peace Accords did not expect Republika Srpska to survive all these years, thinking it was just a transitional solution and that Serbs would eventually be absorbed into BiH. “No, we have reached the red line that cannot be crossed. This is not separatism or any kind of unreasonable demand. We simply want to enjoy the same rights as others. We mean no harm to any other people in BiH, but we ask for equal rights,” Višković concluded.
