GOGANOVIĆ: ANKARA SENDING DANGEROUS SIGNAL OF NEO-OTTOMAN AMBITIONS; RESPONSE FROM U.S., CHINA, RUSSIA, AND EU NEEDED

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 9 /SRNA/ - When drones are sent to the Balkans instead of messages of friendship, it is clear that a dangerous signal of neo-Ottoman ambitions is being sent, not a message of peace, emphasized Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović.

"While we are all striving to preserve peace, stability, and security in the region, Turkey's current behavior, which is simultaneously arming the so-called Kosovo, in violation of UN Security Council decisions, and supplying the Armed Forces of BiH, contrary to the modernization plan approved by the BiH Presidency, is a cause for serious concern," Goganović told SRNA. He emphasized that such actions by Turkey do not contribute to peace but instead create additional tension and distrust among the peoples of the Balkans. "I remind you that back in July, I invited the military attaché and the ambassador of Turkey to BiH to discuss these issues, but they did not respond. Therefore, I call on the military representatives of the United States, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, and the EU to react to such activities and use their influence to help preserve peace and stability in the Balkans," Goganović stated. The Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Kosovo in a caretaking capacity Albin Kurti announced yesterday that Turkey has sent a thousand kamikaze drones to Priština, which arrived three months earlier than scheduled under the contract with the Turkish company Baykar.
