RADOIČIĆ TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACTION IN BANJSKA

BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA/ - Milan Radoičić, the vice-president of the Serb List, who resigned from that position, has said that he was in the Banjska region in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, where he organized action without the knowledge of the Serbian authorities with the aim of preventing the terror against the Serbs carried out by the Priština regime of Aljbin Kurti.

In a letter, which was read at a press conference in Belgrade by his attorney Goran Petronijević, Radoičić has said that he did not inform the Serbian authorities or local political structures about this, as well as that the Serbs are not terrorists, but freedom fighters. He has said that he is speaking because of numerous speculations and added that he came to the area of the village of Banjska together with his compatriots from the north of Kosovo in order to encourage the Serbian people from that area to resist Kruti's regime, protect themselves from the terror to which they are subjected on a daily basis and create conditions for the realization of the dream of freedom for the Serbs in the north. "I would like to inform all the persecutors of the Serbian people, from Kurti to his numerous foreign personal helpers, that I personally made all logistical preparations for the defense of our people against the occupiers. This act of mine has nothing to do with my previous political engagement. I did not inform anyone about this, either from the Serbian authorities or local structures, and I did not have any help from them because we had different views on the methods of resisting Kurti's terror," Radoičić says in the letter. He has said that the moves by the Serbs to de-escalate, calm the situation and withdraw did not lead to results and added that the other side did not understand this as a sign of goodwill, but as weakness, and that there were no results that would indicate that KFOR and the international community would contribute to the protection of the Serbian people. Radoičić has pointed out that in the atmosphere of increased brutality of Kurti's regime, he decided to do this because Kosovo and Metohija - his land, home, and state, an integral part of Serbia - are being violently taken away and because the Serbian people are being persecuted with the final intention of ethnically cleansing Kosmet from the Serbs. He has said that the death of the Albanian police officer was accidental, after which a fierce clash began, in which three Serbs, heroes, who laid down their lives for freedom and preservation of Kosovo and Metohija, were killed. Answering questions from journalists, Petronijević has said that Radoičić is ready to respond to the invitation from the competent authorities of Serbia.
