POSSIBILITY OF INITIATING COURT PROCEEDINGS AGAINST SCHMIDT ALSO DISCUSSED

ROME, OCTOBER 18 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić spoke today in Rome with the Italian lawyer Angelo Fiore Tartaglia about the possibility of initiating proceedings before the European courts against Christian Schmidt for false representation, torture and sultanate rule in BiH beyond European, civilizational and human standards.

After the meeting with Tartaglia, Stevandić said that Schmidt lacked the relevant UN Security Council resolution for his appointment. He stated that the second topic of discussion was the depleted uranium effect and the continuation of legal processes related to this in the Balkans, because the Tartaglia law office won more than 350 verdicts for endangering the health of Italian soldiers due to the effect of depleted uranium. "We, together with the Aleksić law office, are looking for ways for Republika Srpska as well as Serbia to initiate procedures for damage compensation for endangering the lives and health of its residents. Both topics have been agreed to continue in Banjaluka when the legal teams dealing with these issues will be developed, which will happen very soon," Stevandić pointed out. Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker said that he was grateful to lawyer Tartaglia, who understood depleted uranium-related issues, as well as legal problems in Republika Srpska and BiH, and the aspirations of Srpska to apply European laws and fight against dictatorship and protectorate. "I am grateful to Tartaglia, who was once one of the most famous, most successful and best students of the Roman Faculty of Law, and today is one of the most respected lawyers in Italy. He applied international law in Italy and won many cases in favor of soldiers who went ill by uranium in Serbia and Republika Srpska," Stevandić stressed. He pointed out that Tartaglia today represents one of the most powerful people in the judicial system and emphasized that the cooperation of Republika Srpska with such an expert will be of great benefit. "His reach is of a European and global character, and the cooperation of Republika Srpska with him and his team will be of great benefit to our citizens and Republika Srpska itself," said Stevandić. Tartaglia pointed out that very fruitful discussions were held at the meeting about the protection of the Serb people in Republika Srpska. "We would like to protect the Serb people in Republika Srpska. We would like to protect democracy in a country that is sovereign. That's why we will do everything to cooperate, to go further and to realize all that is called civilization and humanity in one country," Tartalja emphasized. Stevandić is staying in Rome until tomorrow at the invitation of the Tartaglia and Aleksić law offices, the National Assembly of Srpska stated earlier. Last year, lawyer Srđan Aleksić submitted five lawsuits to the High Court Belgrade demanding compensation from NATO sued by citizens suffering from cancer after being directly exposed to the effects of depleted uranium. The Aleksić legal team is assisted by attorney Tartaglia, who has won more than 300 cases against the Ministry of Defence of Italy before the Italian courts, in favor of Italian soldiers, who also fell ill or died of cancer after being on missions in Kosovo and Metohija, BiH, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan and were directly exposed to depleted uranium. Before the Italian judiciary, through expert testimony, analysis and other arguments, Tartaglia managed to prove a cause-and-effect relations between being in a territory bombed with depleted uranium and contracting cancer.
