AGREEMENT ON MOSTAR-BELGRADE AIR ROUTE SIGNED

MOSTAR, FEBRUARY 2 /SRNA/ - The City of Mostar, Air Serbia and Mostar Airport signed an agreement today in Mostar that will provide an air route from Mostar to Belgrade starting from April 15 this year, connecting Mostar with more than 100 world destinations through this air route.

The agreement was signed at the City Hall by the Mayor of Mostar Mario Kordić and the director general of "Air Serbia" Jirzi Marek. The agreement restored the Mostar-Belgrade air route after more than three decades, first established in 1962. Mostar Mayor Mario Kordić emphasized that with the Mostar-Belgrade air route, the city of Mostar got four hubs - Munich, Rome, Belgrade and Zagreb, and Mostar Airport became a generator of regional development. He has said that Mostar Airport is also getting a new look and that efforts will be made to maintain the air route. Air Serbia commercial strategy director Boško Rupić said that flights from Belgrade to Mostar would go on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays in the middle of the day. “Via Belgrade, Mostar will have a connection with Western Europe, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, but also with Southeast Europe from Bucharest to Athens, Istanbul… There is certainly a possibility of connection with the U.S.A. For us, this is a continuation of traffic expansion in the region. Mostar is the 17th destination in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. We expect a large number of passengers,” said Rupić The price of a one-way ticket will be 56 euros with all taxes, and a return ticket will be 104 euros. The deputy president of the City Council, Velibor Milivojević, has said that the idea of establishing a Mostar-Belgrade air route has existed for more than ten years and that the talks were intensified in 2021 after the visit of Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić to Mostar. Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katic said that this was a great success for the region of Herzegovina and the Federation of BiH /FBiH/. The director of Mostar Airport, Marko Đuzel, emphasized that today's agreement completed the story of four "hubs" - Munich, Zagreb, Rome and Belgrade, and that hardly any airport could boast of that.
