VULIN: IT IS UGLY AND DANGEROUS TO REFER TO SERBIAN VICTIMS AS "JUST SOME VICTIMS"

PREBILOVCI, AUGUST 6 /SRNA/ - Commenting on the fact that Bosniak representatives denied him entry into BiH by plane, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin emphasized that while the personal treatment of him and political events may seem irrelevant, it is ugly and dangerous for them to refer to the commemoration in Prebilovci as "just some commemoration" and the Serbian victims as "just some victims."
"Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, Elmedin Konaković, said that I wanted to come to `just some commemoration`. `Just some commemoration` refers to 1,000 slaughtered Prebilovci residents, 600 slaughtered women and children. `Just some commemoration` is one of the holiest places for the Serbian people," Vulin said. Vulin asked what would happen if he had said that Konaković was going to "just some commemoration in Srebrenica". "Imagine if I were to refer to any victim of another nation as `just some commemoration`?! That is what is ugly and dangerous, and it shows that Serbian victims are regarded as `just some people` and that their suffering is `just some suffering,`" emphasized Vulin, who is also a Republika Srpska senator. Vulin, who despite the ban arrived by car in Prebilovci near Čapljina, where the 83rd anniversary of the crime against the Serbian population during World War II is being commemorated, told reporters that he respects BiH and loves Republika Srpska and that he has not violated any laws. He assessed that Bosniak political representatives feel "great, important, and powerful". "It's not a good message for a country to only show itself through bans. What's the problem with coming to Prebilovci? But I won't deal with that today," he added. He emphasized the importance of Serbs gathering at their places of suffering because no one else will come there. "No one else will acknowledge our wounds, our dead, and our suffering. For them, it's `just some thing`. That's what hurts, and minor malices don't affect me. That you won't sign is less important. This is my country; I am from Manjača, and this is mine. Republika Srpska is mine. This is mine. I respect the laws of BiH, but `just some commemoration` hurts," said Vulin. Vulin emphasizes that he arrived in Prebilovci by car, without an escort or security, saying that he came among his people and his nation. "I came among my people, my nation, my own stone and foundation. God is with us, and who can be against us!" Vulin said. Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin was prevented yesterday from attending the commemoration of 83 years since the crime against Serbs in Prebilovci as the authorities at the BiH level banned the flight of his plane in BiH's airspace. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, expressing dissatisfaction with the decision to prevent Vulin from visiting Prebilovci. The protest note emphasized that this decision undoubtedly represents a violation of good neighborly diplomatic practice.
