PETRONIJEVIĆ: THE BRITISH WANT TO EXECUTE KARADŽIĆ'S LIFE SENTENCE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 9 /SRNA/ - Lawyer Goran Petronijević said that everything that is happening with the first president of Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadžić, who is serving a prison sentence in Great Britain, where his rights are severely suspended, indicates that the authorities of that country want to execute so-called life sentence as soon as possible, even physically liquidate him.
"I don't have any new details,d we haven't heard from each other directly yet. All we got is an information he gave to his daughter Sonja, i.e. his sister Mirjana whom he has the right to communicate with via telephone," Petronijević said in his SRNA statement. Petronijević points out that he published everything he did in this matter in the media. "We are expecting a reaction from The Hague. I am informing the Mechanism directly about all these things that are happening. What has happened now looks like an attempt at something much more difficult," lawyer Petronijević points out. He emphasized that Karadžić must have all the rights like every other prisoner, but his rights were suspended from the very beginning and violated in the rudest possible way. "When he appeared before the Government of Great Britain to exercise his rights before the Court, even greater pressures began. These pressures were well planned either to make him give him up on it or to physically liquidate him so that he could not do it," warned Petronijević. His daughter Sonja Karadžić Jovičević told SRNA yesterday that Karadžić was taken to the hospital without any explanation and the right to contact his family, and warned that they are creating an alibi in Britain and doing something extremely suspicious The first president of Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadžoć, sued the British Government for inhumane treatment, the British daily "Mail" recently published and stated that Karadžić is demanding 50,000 pounds for human rights violations. He addressed the court via video link to sue British Justice Minister Shabana Mahmood. Karadžić is serving a life sentence in prison on the British Isle of Wight where, after being convicted at the Hague Tribunal. It is a prison that has a reputation as one of the worst prison institutions in Great Britain and does not meet the numerous conditions stipulated by the standards in most European countries.
