CVIJANOVIĆ: SCHMIDT ACTS LIKE A VERY, VERY GUIDED MISSILE, OHR POSITIONING ITSELF AS A COMPETITOR EVEN TO THE EU
EAST SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 22 /SRNA/ - Every time the parties of the parliamentary majority at the level of BiH reach an agreement on the next steps on the EU path, Christian Schmidt tries to undermine it by acting contrary to the Dayton Agreement and EU principles, neither of which stipulates that an unelected foreigner can act above democratic institutions, emphasized the Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency Željka Cvijanović.
When asked by SRNA to comment on the statement by German citizen Christian Schmidt that he will issue an order to "unblock the work of the National and University Library and other institutions of cultural significance in BiH," Cvijanović responded that the Constitution clearly defines jurisdictions, specifies which level of government is responsible for them, and determines which budget is obliged to finance them. Cvijanović pointed out that claims suggesting Christian Schmidt's actions - nowhere prescribed by the Dayton Agreement - are complementary and aligned with BiH's path to the EU are blatant lies. "This is clear proof that BiH is an experiment and that the instructed OHR is positioning itself as a competitor even to the EU. Even when they publicly deny it and flood us with stories about synchronized agendas, it is clear that the OHR gets into a state of psychosis every time the EU achieves success, and we achieve it together with them," emphasized Cvijanović. She has said that this is a well-planned activity and that Christian Schmidt acts under the instructions of those who are opposed to any success of the EU, despite claiming to act in synchronization. "Christian Schmidt does not act like some unguided missile but quite the opposite - as a very, very guided missile. Either way, he has disrupted yet another agreement important for our progress toward the EU, all while spending, for the most part, EU funds on his illegal activities," Cvijanović concluded. She said that the EU should be asked why it tolerates this and added that everyone has the right to question the purpose of agreements within political forces or institutions if the EU allows individuals like Schmidt to place themselves above the domestic Constitution of BiH and European legislation and practices.
