SANU TO CONTINUE CLOSEST COOPERATION WITH ANURS IN NEW YEAR AS WELL

BELGRADE, JANUARY 2 /SRNA/ - The president of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts /SANU/ Zoran Knežević has said that SANU has the closest relations with the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republika Srpska /ANURS/ and will do everything to maintain them in 2025.

Knežević emphasized that SANU and ANURS engage in numerous joint projects and activities, and have regular meetings. "We are waiting for them to complete the elections for the new leadership of ANURS. As soon as that is done, we will resume all ongoing activities with our colleagues and friends from ANURS and explore whether there are additional opportunities for exhibitions, concerts, and similar events," Knežević told SRNA. Speaking about the work of SANU in 2025, Knežević announced that the Academy will take stock after the electoral process and begin preparations for the next election cycle. "One of the priorities will be further improving our electoral rules, our statute, and all other matters related to elections," Knežević said. He added that SANU, on the other hand, has numerous activities and will strive to continue and enrich them, if possible, given their already high level. "We have strengthened and rejuvenated. We have more members now, including many younger ones, and we hope to receive support from them," Knežević said. According to him, SANU had many regular activities in the previous period, such as exhibitions, concerts, and regular forums organized by the SANU Library. "We also had several lecture series and a significant number of conferences, roundtables, and all those activities that are, in a way, part of our daily routine. These will continue, and I hope they will be further enhanced with the help of our new, younger members," Knežević emphasized.
