DODIK: NGO LAW - PROTECTING SRPSKA AGAINST FOREIGN PRESSURES
BELGRADE, FEBRUARY 9 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President, Milorad Dodik, has stated that the law on non-governmental organisations is a step towards exercising Srpska’s right to protect its institutions, society and values from foreign pressures.
Dodik has stated that this law relies on the practice of developed countries that advocate for the transparency of the non-governmental sector work, emphasizing that every organisation that receives funds from abroad will have to report its finances to competent institutions, such as the ministries of justice and finance. "It is not an attack on freedom of work, but a necessary protection of our society and Republika Srpska from foreign influences that often operate through this sector," Dodik told Kurir. He pointed out that examples from the world clearly show how the non-governmental sector can be misused and pointed out that during several days of "checking on" donations in the USA, Elon Musk team discovered shocking data on $ 1.5 million dollars being transferred annually to an organisation in Serbia for LGBT propaganda. "It is clear that you cannot destroy the family values of our people even with 100 billion dollars. This is proof that it is a very elaborate and corrupt system, which is nothing but a mechanism of political pressure on democratic institutions and the sovereignty of countries," Dodik said. In such a context, Dodik points out, there is nothing wrong with regulating the work of non-governmental organisations. Dodik said that justice is not the goal of the court proceedings against him before the Court of BiH, but that he is filled with strength by the fact that this proceeding has once again confirmed the unity of the Serb people regardless of political differences. "As a president with decades-long electoral victories behind, I feel that all the people of Republika Srpska, regardless of political differences, stand behind me and support me. This is the strength that guides me through these politically motivated attacks," said Dodik. He pointed out that this is a unique case in judicial history that one is tried for disrespecting the will of an individual, and pointed out that usually people are tried for violating the law and the Constitution, but he is tried for respecting the Constitution. Dodik pointed out that this trial is a big farce whose goal is not justice, but political pressure on Republika Srpska and its institutions. He notes that his job as president is to endure all that and triumph together with his people.
