CVIJANOVIĆ: SARAJEVO HAS OBVIOUSLY BECOME DANGEROUS PLACE FOR SERBS, BOTH FOR THOSE WHO WORK AND FOR THOSE WHO VISIT IT
EAST SARAJEVO, MARCH 29 /SRNA/ - Serb member and chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović strongly condemned the act of vandalism in Sarajevo in which high school students from Novi Sad were attacked with metal rods and called on the authorities to adequately sanction the perpetrators.
"Sarajevo has obviously become a dangerous place for Serbs, both for those who work there and for those who visit it. Attacks on Serbs are becoming more frequent, and it is not the first time that young people from Serbia have been victims of violence in this city," Cvijanović pointed out for SRNA. Unfortunately, she pointed out, this one, like all previous attacks, is a logical consequence of the sick Serbophobia that emerges from Sarajevo's political and media scene, and which we constantly warn about. "It is high time that those responsible for spreading hatred towards everything Serbian in Sarajevo finally come to their senses," Cvijanović said. In the center of Sarajevo last night, high school students from Novi Sad, including a girl, were attacked with metal rods. This is not the first such brutal attack on Serb children in Sarajevo, considering that a year ago also in the center of the city, in the shopping center, a mother and her son were attacked, because he was wearing a Red Star jersey, when the attackers forced the child to take off his jersey and knocked the mother to the ground. For the New Year 2023, tires were punctured on four vehicles with Belgrade, Novi Sad and Užice license plates, and earlier children from the Zvezdara Football Club who were at a tournament for pioneers in Sarajevo were attacked. At the end of February this year, Serbs from Pale, who came to work, were also attacked in front of the BiH Presidency building in Sarajevo. Serbs, employees of the Presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were approached by an unknown man when they were getting off the bus they use to get to work every morning, took photos of them, and then threatened them.
