LINTA: RAJKO VUKADINOVIĆ WAS FREEDOM FIGHTER, NOT TERRORIST

BELGRADE, MARCH 31 /SRNA/ - Rajko Vukadinović, a member of the SAO Krajina police force, was the first victim of the aggression of the pro-Ustasha regime in Krajina, and the Serb people should be proud of that Serb fighter, said Miodrag Linta, president of the Association of Serbs from the region.

Linta reminded that it has been 34 years since the death of the first member of the SAO Krajina police, Rajko Vukadinović /32/, who with his comrades defended the area of Korenica and Plitvice Lakes against the intention of members of the Croatian special police to establish their power through violence. He pointed out that the Serb people should be proud of Vukadinović, who was a freedom fighter for the Krajina Serbs, and not a terrorist as they call him in Croatia. Linta noted that on March 31, 1991, the first armed conflict between Croatian special forces and members of the SAO Krajina police force took place on the Plitvice Lakes, known to the public as "Bloody Easter." During this action, the Croatian police captured 17 Serbs who were brutally tortured for months until they were exchanged in August of the same year. "Rajko Vukadinović was the first victim of the Defensive-Patriotic War, that is, the aggression of the pro-Ustasha regime of Franjo Tuđman against the Serb people in the territory of Krajina," Linta said in a written statement.
