WE MUST FIRMLY OPPOSE DANGERS FROM THE PAST THAT STILL THREATEN US

DONJA GRADINA, APRIL 27 /SRNA/ - Holocaust research expert Gideon Greif said at the execution site in Donja Gradina that such a dangerous regime as the Independent State of Croatia /NDH/ should never have existed, and that even today, dangers from the past continue to pose a threat, which must be opposed.
"The ideologies that once destroyed the world and humanity are rising again. Neo-fascism, neo-Nazism, neo-Ustashism — new forms of evil — continue to endanger our freedom, human rights, and the very dignity of humanity. This is a danger that threatens us from the dark past, and we must fight it with every word and every action," Greif said. He said that he had identified 57 methods of killing developed by the Ustashas, as if one or two were not enough, and that Ustasha killers even competed with each other in this. "There are still numerous testimonies from camp survivors that have never been published and are largely unknown. By familiarizing ourselves with all these testimonies, we can build a wall of resistance to ensure that such a cruel and wicked regime as the NDH is never repeated," Greif emphasized. He emphasized that the spirit of the inmates in Jasenovac was never broken, despite everything. While physically destroyed, they remained mentally strong. A memorial service for the victims of the Ustasha crime — the genocide of the NDH, was held at the plateau next to the Topole mass grave field in the Memorial Area Donja Gradina near Kozarska Dubica, in remembrance of the half a million Serbs, 40,000 Roma, and 33,000 Jews killed in the Jasenovac concentration camp system.
