BANJAC: OPPOSITION WANTS TO BE IN POWER OUTSIDE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE

BANJA LUKA, MAY 7 /SRNA/ - The British have been trying for a long time to establish an order in BiH that is outside the Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement; it is devastating to see that the opposition in Republika Srpska agrees to this, as they seek to come to power against the will of the people, said the president of the People's Party of Srpska /NPS/ Darko Banjac.
Banjac told SRNA that the conversation between the British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and representatives of political parties, including the opposition in Republika Srpska, shows that British officials do not accept the will of the people, thereby degrading the constitutional order of BiH and the Dayton Peace Agreement. He emphasized that he is not surprised that the British are doing this, but it is devastating to see that the opposition in Republika Srpska supports such methods and ways of coming to power. "The fact that someone wants to represent Republika Srpska, yet represents a minority and cannot represent the institutions of Srpska, only shows how they would like to come to power," pointed out Banjac. Banjac emphasized that Republika Srpska has its institutions and will make decisions aimed at protecting its constitutional order, and when it comes to BiH, it will make decisions aimed at protecting the Dayton Peace Agreement. Representatives of two "troikas" - the ruling coalition from the Federation of BiH, composed of the SDP, People and Justice /NiP/, and Our Party, and the opposition bloc from Republika Srpska, made up of the SDS, PDP, and the Justice and Order List, held a meeting last night in Sarajevo with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy and British Ambassador Julian Reilly.
