CVIJANOVIĆ: NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SERVES TO DEFEND REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, MAY 14 /SRNA/ – Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović expressed gratitude to all MPs who supported her veto this evening and emphasized that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska overturned the conclusion of the BiH Presidency, which had been adopted by the two members from the Federation of BiH outvoting her.

Cvijanović stressed that the strong support for the veto once again proved that the National Assembly is up to the task and serves to defend the interests of Republika Srpska. "Thank you to all MPs who supported the Serb member of the Presidency’s veto, both from the ruling coalition and the opposition," Cvijanović wrote on Instagram. The National Assembly of Republika Srpska this evening adopted the decision confirming the statement of Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, according to which the disputed conclusion adopted by the BiH Presidency on May 12—without consensus—is highly detrimental to the vital interests of Srpska. The disputed conclusion, among other things, involved the other two members of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, calling on EUFOR to assist BiH police agencies in arresting officials from Srpska. Out of a total of 76 MPs present in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, 64 voted in favor of the confirmation, five voted against, and none abstained.
