KOŠARAC: MURPHY'S OBSESSION WITH DODIK SHOWS HE’S STILL HURT BY DEFEAT

EAST SARAJEVO, MAY 20 /SRNA/ – After wasting years and ending his mandate in disgrace, followed by a sudden retreat across the ocean, Michael Murphy is once again trying to lecture someone in BiH, said Staša Košarac, Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers.

"The most fitting way to respond is to quote the legendary Zoran Radmilović in the cult comedy Radovan III: `Stanislav, you've gone too far with this s...` That about sums up Murphy's remarks,” Košarac commented. As if the damage he inflicted on this country wasn't enough, Košarac said, Murphy now feels the need to analyze the Dayton Agreement, political relations, and the current crisis in BiH. "Unsurprisingly, in Murphy's broad but shallow analysis, the blame lies with the `evil Serbs,` especially President Milorad Dodik, who refused to accept the `April package` in 2006 and who has, for twenty years, prevented BiH from developing outside the Dayton framework. He even blames the Croats a bit, for insisting on choosing their own representatives," Košarac wrote on Instagram. He added that, according to Murphy, the Bosniaks bear the least blame—he only faults them for not being patient enough to wait for a unitary state to fall into their hands, revealing their cards too early. "Of course, in Murphy's view, the only ones without blame are the real sources of the crisis – the illegitimate Christian Schmidt, the former U.S. ambassador, and nearly all previous U.S. administrations, which have so altered, devalued, and ‘punctured’ the Dayton Agreement – the very foundation of BiH – that the entire structure is now leaning and at real risk of collapse," Košarac emphasized. He added that Murphy's analysis (made to the federal media) is filled with contradictions: first he claims that think tanks in Brussels and Washington won't solve the problems in BiH and that only internal consensus can, but then again calls for increased international interventionism against Republika Srpska. "His obsession with President Dodik shows just how much Murphy is still stung by his defeat in that `conflict`. He wanders through history, calls for `constructive Serbs for BiH,` and once again confirms that, instead of making public statements, it would be better for him to remain in retirement and hidden, considering all the problems he left behind," Košarac concluded.
