IMPORTANT THAT DODIK SPEAKS ABOUT DAYTON AGREEMENT, WHOSE EROSION CONTINUES TO THIS DAY

BANJA LUKA, MAY 20 /SRNA/ – It is important that the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik addresses the National Assembly of Republika Srpska regarding three decades of the Dayton Peace Accords, considering that this agreement has been eroded for that long by high representatives and international actors, political scientist Bojan Šolaja from the Center for International and Security Studies told SRNA.
Šolaja stated that BiH was never given a chance for domestic actors to determine its internal and foreign policy path, and that it has remained an “orphan” under the patronage of the international community, which for all these years has shaped BiH according to its own interests, ignoring the interests of BiH citizens. He noted that despite the existence of the Dayton Agreement for 30 years, the political situation in BiH remains complex and is becoming increasingly aggravated due to external actors, foreign representatives in BiH, and individuals who are illegally present and illegitimate representatives of certain Western countries. Šolaja emphasized that it is very important for this to be discussed in the National Assembly, the highest legislative body of Republika Srpska, which protects not only the interests of the Serb people in Republika Srpska but also of all its citizens. "It is good that this is being done by the President of Republika Srpska – one of the two entities in BiH, as defined by the Agreement – and that he openly presents the past 30 years, given that the erosion of this international agreement has lasted just as long," Šolaja stated. The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik is scheduled to speak at a special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, which will take place following the conclusion of the 14th regular session, marking the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Agreement.
