INMATE FROM EAST SARAJEVO ATTACKED BY ANOTHER INMATE, PRISON GUARD ALSO INJURED

ZENICA, May 22 /SRNA/ - An inmate from East Sarajevo, identified as I. C. /aged 40/, was seriously injured at the Zenica Correctional Facility when he was attacked by another inmate.

During the incident, a prison guard also sustained serious injuries, reads a statement of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Ministry of Interior /MoI/. The inmate from East Sarajevo and the guard were seriously injured by inmate identified as M. B. /aged 40/ from Sarajevo, the cantonal MoI stated. The attack occurred yesterday at 2:55 PM in Pavilion Three of the Zenica maximum-security correctional facility. Police have conducted an investigation and further work is underway to document the criminal offense. The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office has been informed of the incident.
