NOSOVIĆ: CRIME WITHOUT PUNISHMENT IN BRADINA - NO JUSTICE FOR SERBS MESSAGE

BANJA LUKA, MAY 25 /SRNA/ - The war crime committed against Serb civilians in Bradina near Konjic was premeditated, yet the perpetrators and those who ordered it have not been punished to this day, which demonstrates the attitude of BiH’s judiciary toward Serb victims, Anđelko Nosović, the head of the Association of Republika Srpska Prison Camp Detainees, told SRNA.

Nosović reminded that members of the so-called Army of BiH and the Croatian Defence Council /HVO/ committed a horrific crime against Serbs in Bradina, leaving not a single intact Serb-owned house, chimney, or surviving elder on their doorstep. By failing to punish these crimes, the judiciary at the BiH level is sending the message that there is no justice for the Serb people. "This shows that the killing of the Serb population and individuals in Bradina was a premeditated war crime," said Nosović, adding that by acting this way, the BiH judiciary is demonstrating that crimes committed against Serbs are considered legitimate, even desirable. According to him, the international community and Bosniak officials are preventing Serbs from returning to Konjic, let alone rebuilding their homes, unlike the reconstruction of Bosniak and Croat houses in Kozarac and Posavina. He also pointed out that the BiH judiciary applies double standards and primarily seeks to prosecute Serbs for war events that occurred across BiH. "The same is happening today, as the BiH judiciary prosecutes the leadership of Republika Srpska and files various indictments against Serb officials, showing that Serbs are considered unwelcome in BiH," Nosović emphasized. He recalled that the Serb people, wherever they were a minority, suffered during both the Defensive - Patriotic War and the Second World War. Nosović stated that both local and international courts have so far shown there is no justice for Serbs, but emphasized that time will prove that justice, though slow, is still attainable. A commemoration will be held today in Bradina, near Konjic, to mark 33 years since the destruction and burning of this and surrounding villages, where members of Muslim and Croat forces brutally killed 48 Serb civilians.
