VIŠKOVIĆ: SCHMIDT IS THE BEST CHOICE FOR THE SO-CALLED SHADOW GOVERNMENT

BANJA LUKA, MAY 27 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković sent a message to the opposition in Republika Srpska saying that Christian Schmidt is their best choice for the position of prime minister of the so-called shadow government, since he is already making decisions and proposals on their behalf.

Višković told SRNA that ministers in that government could be staff from certain embassies, as well as experts from the Federation of BiH, whose views on Republika Srpska and the Serbian people are well known. "That way, you will truly justify what you’ve been doing for the past year and more. I am certain that our citizens will recognize that and express their gratitude at the next elections," Višković emphasized. He says that, despite difficult circumstances, the Government of Republika Srpska is meeting all budgetary obligations without delays, and that this is probably a major problem for the opposition and their mentors, which is why they are targeting the leadership of Republika Srpska. According to him, when the SDS and PDP were in power, they transferred all the jurisdictions they could from Republika Srpska to the BiH level, such as customs, the Indirect Taxation Authority, and the military. “Today, you have the Minister of Defense at the BiH level who prohibits Republika Srpska officials from attending commemorations of the anniversary of the Republika Srpska Army, along with many other activities. If you support that, or in any way encourage those who do such things, then at the very least, to repay them, go ahead and appoint them to that so-called shadow government,” Višković emphasized. He says that the talk of a so-called shadow government is nothing new, as similar ideas were heard from the previous SDS leaderships as well, but that voters have been keeping them in the shadows for years. Višković says that the mayor of Šamac, Đorđe Milićević, presented a series of inaccurate claims in an open letter addressed to him and Republika Srpska’s Minister of Finance, Zora Vidović. "As far as I know, he is supposed to be some finance minister in that shadow government. Mr. Milićević, if your way of legitimizing yourself as finance minister is by using false and distorted information and misleading the public in Republika Srpska, then you’d be better off doing the job you were elected to do by the people who live in that area, and that is to be the mayor. You shouldn’t go beyond that," Višković said. He called on citizens to remember the time when the SDS and PDP were in power, particularly the pensions, social benefits, and budgets from that period.
