RELICS OF SAINT ZOSIM REDRESSED, PIECES OF OLD VESTMENTS GIVEN TO FAITHFUL FOR BLESSING

BELGRADE, JUNE 1 /SRNA/ – The relics of Saint Zosim were traditionally redressed today at Tumane Monastery near Golubac, in the presence of a large number of faithful.

The Divine Liturgy was served by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije. After being redressed, the holy relics were carried in a procession to the saint’s hermitage, about one kilometer from the monastery, where the Akathist was served. Afterward, fragments of the saint’s old vestments will be distributed to the faithful as a blessing. According to RTS, the relics will remain available for veneration throughout the entire day. In the monastery church, the faithful also venerate the incorrupt relics of Saint James the New of Tumane, as well as the Russian wonderworking icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "Kursk Tumane," before which an eternal vigil lamp burns. The monastery is visited annually by around one million people from all over the world.
