GRACIOUS HOSTS IN AMERICA, NO UNPLEASANT SITUATIONS

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 1 /SRNA/ – Serb member and Chairperson of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović stated that during her recent visit to the United States she experienced no restrictions or unpleasant situations, but rather received very clear messages regarding important issues.
"Everything was perfect, excellently organized, and the hosts were wonderful. Their Secret Service, with whom I’ve had previous experience, performs its duties very professionally," Cvijanović told Newsmax Balkans. She said she was pleased with the treatment she received, how things were organized, and the opportunities she had—particularly with what she was able to hear. "I received certain signals and very clear messages about specific important matters. It was a great opportunity," said Cvijanović, who visited Washington and Dayton. She assessed that the visit was of high quality and that it was beneficial for her interlocutors to hear different viewpoints. When asked about the U.S. blacklist and whether her name would be removed from it, Cvijanović said she did not ask about it but is aware that the current U.S. administration holds very different views regarding sanctions on individuals. She clarified that she had no restrictions even when it came to the UN, noting that she attended the session in New York, where she also engaged in other activities. Cvijanović pointed out that there were differences in the treatment of her and the other two members of the BiH Presidency because, as she explained, the chairperson receives full support. She emphasized that the rules stipulate that the chairperson of the Presidency is assigned Secret Service protection, greater logistical and organizational support, and priority when speaking and presenting views. "The other two members of the Presidency are treated the same as everyone else attending. There was only one joint meeting, while the rest were individual and separate. We also had one joint event attended by regional leaders, which was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Agreement," Cvijanović said.
