MIGRANT CENTERS WON'T BE OPENED, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA WILL NOT PAY THE PRICE FOR OTHER COUNTRIES’ FAILED POLICIES

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 16 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković stated that any discussion, let alone implementation, of the British plan to open migrant centers in BiH is unacceptable for Republika Srpska, adding that Srpska and its citizens will not pay the price for the failed policies of other countries.

Višković stated that Republika Srpska will never give consent to such a plan, as it sees it as a major risk, primarily from a security standpoint. "We do not want to expose our citizens and Republika Srpska to any security risks. That must be clear to everyone, both to those in Europe who are advocating for this idea and to the domestic structures trying to gain certain benefits from it," Višković emphasized. He pointed out that he was primarily referring to opposition parties from Republika Srpska, which, he said, are willing to do anything to obtain a few positions, says a press release from the Government's Public Relations Bureau. "Unlike the opposition, we, who represent the people and institutions, bear a great responsibility in the fight for the survival of Republika Srpska. For us, it is sacred, and we will defend it to the end," Višković stated. He said that Republika Srpska officials have grown accustomed to political Sarajevo quietly accepting all directives, adding that it is disheartening to watch the opposition so willing to sell out Srpska for certain privileges. "It's pointless to even talk about the security aspects. Who could then guarantee the safety of each of our citizens?" Višković asked. According to him, everyone must clearly understand that this has nothing to do with any racial, ethnic, or national issue, but solely with the security of Republika Srpska. "The very fact that those migrants have been declared undesirable in the countries that are now trying to dictate to us what we should do speaks volumes," Višković said. He reminded that Republika Srpska maintains a clear position that BiH must not become a collection center for certain categories of migrants, whose relocation would only transfer the problems they bring from certain European countries. "Republika Srpska and its citizens will not pay the price for the failed policies of other countries. Certain European countries must now demonstrate the capacity and ability to face this problem within their possibilities, rather than transferring their crises and issues onto other regions," the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska said.
