PETKOVIĆ: VERDICT BASED ON FORCE, LEGAL CONSEQUENCES YET TO BE FELT

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 1 /SRNA/ - Lawyer Milan Petković described as shameful the second-instance verdict by the Appeals Chamber of the Court of BiH against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, emphasizing that it is based not on law, but on force.

"This is not just about Milorad Dodik. This is about respecting the constitutional right of a constituent people to elect their president. The political and legal consequences are yet to be felt," Petković told SRNA. The Appeals Chamber of the BiH Court has upheld the first-instance verdict against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, Dodik's lawyer Goran Bubić told SRNA. Dodik was initially sentenced to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity for failing to comply with the decisions of Christian Schmidt.
