TOMORROW IN BANJA LUKA ON CURRENT POLITICAL SITUATION

EAST SARAJEVO, AUGUST 7 /SRNA/ – The Head of the Association of Municipalities and Cities of Republika Srpska Ljubiša Ćosić announced that tomorrow in Banja Luka, an extraordinary session of the Association's Assembly will be held to discuss the current political situation following the politically motivated BiH Court's judgment against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and CEC's decision to terminate his mandate.
"The proposal is to adopt a declaration at the session that will clearly and unequivocally condemn any attempt to undermine the institutions of Republika Srpska, especially the institution of the president, as a symbol of unity and the will of the people. This is not a matter of any political party, this is a matter of Republika Srpska," Ćosić told SRNA. He emphasized that the Association of Municipalities and Cities has the duty at this moment to exercise political unity, institutional responsibility, and statehood maturity, and to unite all legitimately elected representatives of the people at the local level to protect the constitutional order of Republika Srpska. "Destabilizing the institution of the president represents a dangerous precedent and a direct attack on Republika Srpska. It must be clear to everyone that this is an attack on the institutional strength of Srpska and the will of the people behind it," Ćosić said. According to him, deepening political divisions within the Serb people is precisely what part of the official Sarajevo and the international community, as well as all those working to undermine Republika Srpska, are aiming for. "I understand political differences, but at this moment, we must act united. Not as the government and opposition, but as responsible representatives of the people who defend Republika Srpska. If we allow internal discord to weaken us, we will jeopardize everything we have built and defended for decades," Ćosić emphasized.
