ŽIVKOVIĆ-RAJILIĆ: REFERENDUM NEEDED TO PRESERVE SRPSKA AND ITS INSTITUTIONS

BANJA LUKA, August 12 /SRNA/ - Božica Živković-Rajilić, President of the Association of Women Victims of War of Republika Srpska, believes that, following the verdict of the unconstitutional Court of BiH against the legitimately elected President of Srpska Milorad Dodik, a referendum is needed to preserve Srpska and its institutions.
"It is not the name of the person representing us in a given term in an institution that matters, but rather that the institutions of Republika Srpska endure and function, and that Srpska retains all its executive and legislative competences," Živković-Rajilić told SRNA. She stressed that a referendum should have been held on many issues earlier, as the pressures on Republika Srpska are enormous, with constant attempts to completely deny the existence of Srpska, its institutions, and its powers. "For years and decades, terror has been carried out against Republika Srpska. Srpska has been under attack from political Sarajevo, which has, ever since the war, sought a unitary BiH in which there would be no trace of Serbs," Živković-Rajilić warned. She said this is why it is necessary to hold a referendum for the people to state their position and for Republika Srpska to be defended. Following the verdict of the unconstitutional Court of BiH, a referendum should be held in Republika Srpska based on a decision of the National Assembly of Srpska.
