DEĐANSKI: PEOPLE WILL PUNISH THE OPPOSITION IN SRPSKA FOR SHAMEFUL BEHAVIOR
BELGRADE, AUGUST 23 /SRNA/ - Political analyst Stevica Deđanski believes that the decision of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska to call a referendum is an excellent response to everything being done by Christian Schmidt, the Court of BiH, the Central Election Commission of BiH, and political Sarajevo, because the key point is for the Serb people to express their opinion on the matter.
Commenting on the opposition MPs’ refusal to vote on the referendum, Deđanski said that such behavior is more than shameful and that the people of Republika Srpska will punish the opposition for it. "The question is, what is the opposition’s idea if they do not want to hear what the Serb people think about this, and what is it that they do want to hear? That is a question that any reasonable person would ask," Deđanski told SRNA. He believes it is incomprehensible that the opposition refuses to hear public opinion, adding that he does not know how they expect to ever gain a single vote from the Serb people in Republika Srpska. Deđanski says that, unfortunately, it seems that in both Serbia and Republika Srpska, there are political parties that care more about what foreign ambassadors say than what the Serb people say. "That is frightening and worrying. The people will punish all of this, and the referendum must be held and conducted in a peaceful and solemn atmosphere," Deđanski said. The National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted on Friday evening a decision to hold a referendum regarding the ruling of the unconstitutional Court of BiH against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH to terminate the mandate of President Dodik, setting the referendum date for October 25. The referendum question reads: "Do you accept the decisions of the unelected foreigner, Christian Schmidt, and the verdicts of the unconstitutional Court of BiH against the President of Republika Srpska, as well as the decision of the CEC to terminate the mandate of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik?"
