VULIĆ ASKS REILLY: ARE LAWS RESPECTED IN GREAT BRITAIN, OR IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE OFF THE STREET CAN WRITE AND CHANGE THEM?!

DOBOJ, AUGUST 23 /SRNA/ - The Head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Sanja Vulić, asked the British Ambassador to BiH, Julian Reilly, whether laws are respected in Great Britain, or if someone off the street can write and change them.

Vulić also asked why things should be any different in BiH than in Great Britain. “Your Excellency, should the Constitution and the Dayton Agreement be respected? Should all levels of government, including the legislative, be respected?” Vulić asked, stressing that, unfortunately, Reilly’s statement is a sign of open belittling of the Serb people. Reacting to the British ambassador’s statement that the ruling of the BiH Court against the President of Republika Srpska “must be respected" and that "holding a referendum on any court ruling would be against the rule of law and the constitutional order,” Vulić told SRNA that, unfortunately, the judiciary in BiH has long ceased to be independent, and instead serves as an instrument of political pressure and foreign influence. “Experts have been sidelined, and decisions are made under the dictate of extra-institutional centers of power. That is the real undermining of Dayton and the constitutional order, not the democratic will of the people,” Vulić pointed out. She reminded Reilly that a referendum is the highest expression of democracy, noting that this was the case with Brexit, and that the same could apply in the case of an RS-exit. “The only difference is that in Great Britain you recognize this right for yourselves, while denying it to others,” Vulić stressed. She told SRNA that the false concern for the rule of law, while simultaneously supporting foreign interventionism and trampling on constitutional powers, only confirms double standards and hypocrisy, as well as the EU’s double standards. “BiH no longer functions within the Dayton framework precisely because of the policies supported by the British ambassador and similar representatives. Therefore, his statement does not contribute to peace and stability, but rather fuels distrust and deepens divisions,” Vulić said.
