GASIFICATION OF EASTERN SRPSKA PROCEEDING AS PLANNED

JAHORINA, AUGUST 25 /SRNA/ - The Director General of the company Sarajevo-gas Nedeljko Elek said today that the process of gasification of Eastern Republika Srpska, adopted in cooperation with the competent ministry and the Government of Srpska, is proceeding according to plan and should be completed within 14 months.
He expressed gratitude to the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Property-Legal Affairs /RUGGIP/ and the Public Attorney's Office in Vlasenica for their assistance in resolving property-legal issues, which he described as the most difficult part of the project, noting that progress is being made in line with the agreed schedule. Elek pointed out that resolving property-legal issues - for which the Ministry of Finance has already allocated funds - should be completed by the end of the year. "There are many challenges: some people no longer live here, some have passed away and inheritance procedures have not been finalized. There is a lot of legal work involved, but the machinery is on site and things are moving forward. At the moment, we are clearing a 10-kilometer section in Han Pijesak, a few kilometers have already been completed in Milići, and so far everything is going well," Elek emphasized. He added that gasification is being implemented separately in each municipality, noting that works in Milići should be completed this year, as well as most of the work in Han Pijesak. "Much will depend on weather conditions, but the 14-month timeframe is realistic to have everything completed properly," Elek concluded. The works officially began in June at the Jakovice transfer station in Šekovići. The project includes the construction of the main gas pipeline Šekovići–Vlasenica–Milići, with a branch line Vlasenica–Igrišta–Han Pijesak. The construction of this 48-kilometer main gas pipeline, valued at around 74 million KM, is one of the most important strategic projects of the gas system in Republika Srpska. It is described as a strategic and historic project that will enhance the economic outlook and living standards of citizens in this part of Srpska.
