ŠULIĆ: NEW INVESTMENTS AND FINANCIAL STABILITY
JAHORINA, AUGUST 25 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska Denis Šulić states that the Jahorina Olympic Centre expects financial stability and new investments this year, with the support of the Republika Srpska Government and President Milorad Dodik.
Šulić emphasized that both the Government and President Dodik have supported the Olympic Centre from day one, and that support will continue under the new prime minister, ensuring the continuation of the investment cycle on Jahorina. "Our goal is to continue expanding the summer offerings and develop attractions that will attract tourists so that our hoteliers can benefit more from these attractions. In terms of winter tourism, we’ve already done a lot that can be beneficial to us," Šulić told the press on Jahorina, where the new management of the Olympic Centre was presented and a meeting with hoteliers was held to discuss plans for the upcoming winter season and other strategic topics for the centre's future development. Šulić announced continued progress and development of winter tourism facilities, all aimed at enriching the Olympic beauty. He noted that a new chapter is beginning with the appointment of Igor Žiljak as the new director of the Jahorina Olympic Centre. Žiljak has already proven himself in the region and globally, having organized World Cup events at Sljeme and participated in organising the Olympic Games in China. "In the past two years, most ski resorts were closed or were only opened for about 30 days, while Jahorina had over 90 skiing days - thanks to Žiljak. I'm confident that with the new director, we’ll succeed in attracting new markets, which is very important, such as Croatia, Slovenia, and the Federation of BiH, to increase arrivals from those areas," Šulić stressed. Šulić stated that a clear plan has been made and expressed satisfaction that cooperation among the Jahorina Olympic Centre, hoteliers, municipalities, and the city of East Sarajevo is at an exceptionally high level, with good communication and information exchange. According to him, all this is a guarantee of a successful winter season. "Jahorina's importance to Pale and this part of Republika Srpska is reflected in the fact that, during January, the peak of the winter season, the municipality of Pale records the highest VAT collection in all of BiH, thanks to investments from the Government of Republika Srpska and the support of President Milorad Dodik," Šulić pointed out. He also thanked former director Dejan Ljevnaić for his contribution to the development of the Olympic beauty and everything he achieved.
