KOVAČEVIĆ: SRPSKA SUPPORTS TRUMP, OFFICIAL SARAJEVO STILL CAN'T ACCEPT HIS VICTORY

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 26 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska supports US President Donald Trump and believes his election victory is the best possible outcome for international relations, while official Sarajevo still cannot come to terms with the fact that he won, said Radovan Kovačević, the Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
Commenting on BiH Presidency members Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović's refusal to include the Serb member Željka Cvijanović's initiative nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize on the session agenda, Kovačević said they sought approval from Brussels to support the proposal, and since they didn’t receive it, they tried to postpone everything. "I see this as yet another opportunity to fully expose the differences between Republika Srpska and official Sarajevo," Kovačević said. He noted that a poll conducted on news portals in Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH showed that over 80% of people in Srpska support awarding Trump the Nobel Prize, while nearly 90% of people in the Federation are against it. Kovačević said that Bećirović and Komšić refuse to accept reality. "The reality is that, unlike their /former US President Barack/ Obama, who started I don't know how many wars, Trump didn't start a single one, but halted many. Bećirović and Komšić are clearly against Trump's role. Of course, Srpska's position on Trump contributes to that, but for them, Trump is unwanted - a sad reality," Kovačević emphasized. He pointed out that official Sarajevo openly supported Trump's opponents. "They were satisfied with Trump's predecessors and with those who did everything possible to prevent him from becoming president. It's reminiscent of what they, along with their mentors from the Biden administration, did against Milorad Dodik here. For them, the problem is Trump himself. In contrast, Srpska supports Trump and sees his victory as the best thing that could have happened in international relations," Kovačević told RTRS. He reminded that official Sarajevo supported former U.S. President Joseph Biden and the Democratic Party, while Republika Srpska supported Donald Trump even before he became president. "They still do. Even today, they cannot accept that Trump won. If you look at Sarajevo media, they are clearly opposed to Trump. They criticize his every move as if it were the act of an enemy, an opponent, or at the very least someone they don’t want in a position of power," Kovačević said. He added that the new US ambassador to BiH has not yet arrived, but that better days are surely coming for Republika Srpska.
