AGREED EXCHANGE OF TEACHING STAFF, BUT ALSO STUDENTS

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 3 /SRNA/ – The Police Training and Education Centers of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and Hungary will implement cooperation through the exchange of teaching staff, curricula, and programs.
This is envisaged in the Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening cooperation, signed today by the Head of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs /MOI/ Department for Police Education Mile Šikman and the Director of the Police Education Center of the Hungarian Ministry of Internal Affairs Adam Istvan Horvath. After signing the Memorandum, Šikman told reporters that this cooperation will also enable students of the Secondary School of Internal Affairs and cadets of the Police Academy to exchange experiences with participants of police training in Hungary. "The goal is to improve our training and to obtain the best practices from international, especially bilateral cooperation. Colleagues from Hungary are interested in adopting our experiences in training police officers with higher education who are entering employment in the Ministry for the first time without previous police experience," Šikman emphasized. Horvath stated that the Police Education Center of Hungary provides all types of training, from basic to specialist, except for university education. "We have agreed that our police training experts will meet more often, whether in Srpska or in Hungary. The Memorandum is a legally binding act for us and enables not only the exchange of teaching staff, but also of students," Horvath said. He expressed confidence that colleagues from Republika Srpska will visit them soon. The aim of the Memorandum is also to improve and strengthen professional partnership through the joint organization of seminars, projects, and research.
