ŠEHOVAC: NO ONE BEEING CONVICTED FOR NATO AGGRESSION A GREAT SHAME

EAST SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 9 /SRNA/ - It is a great shame that no one has been convicted for the NATO aggression against Republika Srpska 30 years ago, said Goran Šehovac on behalf of the Republika Srpska War Veterans Organisation, adding that Serbs will never forget the bombing, nor forgive those killed.
"We will not forgive for the thousands of soldiers who died after the war due to the effects of depleted uranium. We will not forgive for our young children who are still suffering over the depleted uranium the European community, along with NATO, dropped on these lands," said Šehovac. According to him, there can be no forgiveness for all the toxic waste that was dumped into what was then Serb Sarajevo and Republika Srpska. "I say from this sacred place, from Serb Ilidža, Serb Sarajevo, we will never forgive you our children and our army!" Šehovac told the press on the occasion of marking the Day of Remembrance for the victims of NATO bombing in Republika Srpska. East Ilidža Municipality Mayor Marinko Božović emphasized that many crimes committed against Serbs during the recent Defensive-Patriotic War went unpunished, one of which is the NATO aggression on Republika Srpska. "Unfortunately, there were many events in the recent war that are remembered in the municipality by the victims, then in Srpska and today in East Ilidža, when many Serb soldiers and civilians died from the consequences of the bombing, among them brother and sister of the Galinac family," said Božović. He added that Serbs must be wise and smart, and pass on everything that happened in the past through the culture of remembrance to future generations, so it is not forgotten. "We proudly highlight the heroic fight of all the soldiers of the Republika Srpska Army, the civilians, and all those who defended and saved what was then Serb Sarajevo," Božović said. East Sarajevo is marking today the Day of Remembrance for those killed in the NATO bombing of Republika Srpska, during which depleted uranium ammunition was used. 47 soldiers of the Republika Srpska Army were killed, along with at least 7 civilians, while over 100 soldiers were wounded and 21 civilians severely injured. At the local cemetery in Grlica, Istočna Ilidža Municipality, a memorial service was held, and flowers were laid at the memorial to the first victims of NATO aggression in what was then Serb Sarajevo, brother and sister Radenko and Radmila Galinac. A memorial service was also held at the Church of Saint Peter of Dabar-Bosnia in Vojkovići for all Serbs killed during NATO aggression against Republika Srpska, followed by a spiritual and artistic programme. The initiative to mark the Day of Remembrance for the victims of NATO bombing was launched in Andrićgrad on August 26, 2018, at the proposal of the News Agency of Republika Srpska - SRNA.
