SELAK: IMPROVE FUNCTIONING OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM
BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska Goran Selak announced that he will visit all judicial institutions in Srpska in order to improve the functioning of the entire system.
"As a minister, I will first visit all judicial institutions. I will speak with all heads of institutions as well as employees to hear why there are complaints and how we can improve functioning," Selak said at a press conference in Banja Luka after the session of the Government of Republika Srpska. He noted that citizens of Republika Srpska allocate about BAM 200 million for the functioning of the judiciary, but are not satisfied with the work of judicial institutions. He emphasized that the Ministry will be open to all citizens of Republika Srpska. "Citizens must reach justice more quickly," Selak stated. He added that today he addressed the courts of general jurisdiction and requested information on how many persons are waiting to serve prison sentences. "There is a lot of vacant space in prisons in Republika Srpska," Selak says.
