RECIPROCAL MEASURES INTRODUCED AGAINST TOP SLOVENIAN OFFICIALS

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – The Government of Republika Srpska today, following Slovenia’s decision banning entry to Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, introduced reciprocal measures by banning entry into Srpska for Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon.

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – The Government of Republika Srpska today, following Slovenia’s decision banning entry to Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, introduced reciprocal measures by banning entry into Srpska for Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon.

“The Republika Srpska Interior Ministry is instructed to prevent the listed individuals from entering the territory of the Republic, and to escort them out of Srpska in case they are present,” read conclusions adopted during the government’s second telephone session today. The Government expressed its protest over a unilateral and politically motivated decision to ban entry to President Milorad Dodik into Slovenia. “The Government assessed that the entry ban against President Dodik was enacted without clear legal grounds or justification, representing direct interference in internal affairs, a violation of international conventions, and a step backward in regional relations and the European perspective,” stated the Government's Public Relations Office. In order to protect the political and institutional integrity of Republika Srpska, and in line with international practices, the Government has enacted reciprocal measures.
