BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić has stated this evening that Serbian unity and togetherness are the strength of the Serbian people.

"Freedom, honor, and duty – this is what the Serbian army marched under its flag. Whether it won or lost, it was always on the bright side of history," Minić said at a ceremonial academy in Belgrade, marking the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag, as well as the 150th anniversary of the "Nevesinje Rifle Uprising." Minić emphasized that the Serbian army in September 1918 bore the greatest burden during the heroic breakthrough of the Salonika Front against the Allied forces, calling it a shining day for the Serbs. "We display Serbian unity, freedom, and the national flag as a remembrance of that year, 1918, passing it down to our descendants so that they may be proud, honor it, sing the anthem with awareness of its words, stand under the flag, understand its history and the steps of their ancestors, and see it as a guiding light," Minić stressed. He pointed out the importance of instilling awareness in the youngest generation about the significance of harmony, unity, identity, and the importance of the flag, freedom, faith, coat of arms, and anthem, as Serbian history is the heritage of the Serbian people. Minić stated that Serbian unity is key to overcoming obstacles, opening doors forward while ensuring the defense of its interests. He emphasized that freedom, honor, harmony, and unity are necessities for the Serbian people, who have always stood on the right side of history. "Let this tricolor, under which heroes have marched, remind us, strengthen us, and inspire us toward achievements in preserving our identity, especially in these times of relativism and globalization. Let us guard our freedom and peace jealously and protectively; it was gained with great effort and heroism. On the path of freedom, truth, justice, and patriotism, we walk together, determined and united," Minić said. He noted that the Serbian people know the value of their homeland soil and ancestral roots and understand what belongs to them, even when many would want it otherwise. "But we know what the border means. It is important to us. Happy Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag. Long live Republika Srpska, long live Serbia!" Minić said. The ceremonial academy was held at the National Theatre in Belgrade on the occasion of the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag and the 150th anniversary of the "Nevesinje Rifle Uprising," a symbol of defiance and freedom of the Serbian people. The event was attended by the Prime Ministers of Serbia and Republika Srpska, Đuro Macut and Savo Minić, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić, ministers from both governments, and His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije.
