ABANDONMENT OF SRPSKA'S CAPACITY STRENGTHENING NOT AN OPTION
BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 18 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić says Srpska must, through a referendum, declare that it does not recognise imposed decisions and that it wants to exist based on the Dayton Peace Agreement, the disrespect of which would open the organisation of BiH's internal state structure issues.
"If other actions are taken due to the violation of this agreement, it would open issues regarding the organisation of the BiH's internal structure, but with clearer principles when it comes to territorial division of institutions and competencies," Minić told Politika. He added that it would then be necessary to enter certain procedures, processes, and initiatives to define the status of Republika Srpska, which would certainly lean towards a much greater form of sustainability and independence. "I am not talking about any war, nor is anyone calling for it. We are aware of the situation and the times, but we will not give up on strengthening Srpska's capacities, which has been taken away over the years through various impositions," emphasized Minić. He has also added how painful is the need to defend even today, three decades later, what was defended in the war with the lives and blood of the best sons. He believes that the struggle for Srpska is permanent and unceasing, but it is crucial that it withstands all attacks. "It is important that we defend ourselves, show unity, ensure continuity of existence, and justify everything we were fighting for while we were creating Srpska," said Minić. He reminded that he himself was a participant in the war, a member of the Second Posavina Brigade, and in the final operations of 1995, a member of the First Serb Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, whose uniform he and his comrades-in-arms proudly wore. "We must be responsible for the country we live in and manage it in that way. Any historical or political mistakes are unacceptable," concluded Minić.
