SAVKOVIĆ: DONJA GRADINA - WOUND OF SERB PEOPLE THAT WILL NEVER HEAL

KOZARSKA DUBICA, SEPTEMBER 21 /SRNA/ - Kozarska Dubica Mayor Igor Savković congratulated the Public Institution Donja Gradina Memorial Area and its director, Tanja Tuleković, on receiving a high recognition for fostering a culture of remembrance and preserving the historical memory of the suffering of the Serb people, emphasizing that Donja Gradina is a wound of the Serb people that will never heal.

"Recognition awarded to the Institution and Tuleković on the occasion of the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is a source of pride for all of us. On my own behalf and on behalf of the municipal administration, I extend my heartfelt congratulations," Savković said. He reminded that Donja Gradina, located within Kozarska Dubica municipality, "is a wound of the Serb people that will never heal," and stressed that the whole world must learn the truth about this place of suffering. “The Public Institution Donja Gradina Memorial Area certainly makes an immeasurable contribution in this regard,” Savković said. He added that Brane Krnjajić, a native of Kozarska Dubica and commander of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Serbian Army, led the air forces at Serbia’s military parade yesterday. "I want the youth of our municipality to look up to people like Brane Krnjajić as role models," Savković said, adding that he is proud of the people of Kozarska Dubica who have represented their local community in "the brightest light." By decree of the President of Serbia, Major General Brane Krnjajić, originally from Kozarska Dubica, was appointed earlier this year as commander of the Serbian Army’s Air Force and Air Defense. On the occasion of Kozarska Dubica Municipality Day last year, Brane Krnjajić was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation as a special form of recognition on behalf of the municipality and the citizens of Kozarska Dubica for his outstanding achievements in the field of professional military service as a brigadier general and supersonic fighter pilot in the Serbian Army.
