GOGANOVIĆ: SERB BiH PRESIDENCY MEMBER WILL NOT ALLOW DISMISSAL OF GENERAL KNEŽEVIĆ

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 21 /SRNA/ - Deputy Defense Minister in the Council of Ministers, Aleksandar Goganović, told SRNA that it is clear that political Sarajevo has long been conducting a campaign against Serb representatives and interests.

"There is no justified reason for the dismissal of General Gojko Knežević, nor can it happen, as the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, will not allow it. This is nothing but political pressure and an attempt to destabilize the defense system, which is completely unacceptable," Goganović emphasized. He added that the Chief of the Joint Staff, Colonel General Gojko Knežević, is a responsible professional who performs his duties conscientiously and in accordance with the law, and that a politically motivated campaign, not grounded in facts, is being conducted against him. "General Knežević will always have my full support in his work," said Goganović. Federal portals reported that Defense Minister in the Council of Ministers Zukan Helez could request the dismissal of General Knežević, who attended the military parade in Belgrade and saluted during the performance of the Serbian national anthem, but that the BiH Presidency has jurisdiction over the matter.
