CVIJANOVIĆ: WOMEN ARE BECOMING INCREASINGLY STRONG PILLAR OF SOCIETY’S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 2 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović emphasized that women in Republika Srpska are becoming an increasingly strong pillar of the society’s economic development and need institutional support in this regard.
"Women should be empowered and assisted in effectively applying for support projects, as well as in recognizing all programs and categories that constitute forms of support or donations from international organizations," Cvijanović told reporters in Banja Luka. Cvijanović said she was honored to open today the Eighth Conference and the Fourth Women’s Entrepreneurship Fair in Republika Srpska, standing firmly in support of the activities of women entrepreneurs. "It is very encouraging that women are becoming increasingly courageous in starting businesses, and that they are more capable and willing to engage in networking, demonstrate solidarity, and undertake joint ventures," Cvijanović said. She noted that through this gathering, women are sending a message about their economic strength as well as the need to cooperate closely with institutions to access benefits and enhance their activities. The opening of the Conference and Fair was attended by the Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of Republika Srpska Vojin Mitrović, the Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation Zlatan Klokić, the President of the Republika Srpska Chamber of Commerce Goran Račić, and guests from regional chambers of commerce.
