RUSSIA’S PRESENTATION OF SRPSKA’S REPORT TO THE UN - DIPLOMATIC PRECEDENT AND OPPORTUNITY TO INTERNATIONALIZE SERB ISSUE

BELGRADE, OCTOBER 4 /SRNA/ – Senator of Republika Srpska Bogdana Koljević told SRNA that Russia’s upcoming presentation of Republika Srpska’s report to the United Nations Security Council will be a diplomatic precedent and an opportunity to internationalize the Serb issue, allowing those not yet well informed to learn more about the injustices committed against Srpska.

"This will mark the beginning of the second phase of what I called six months ago the internationalization of the Serb issue by Republika Srpska, which the time has come for," Koljević said, commenting on the outcomes of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik’s visit to Russia and his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The first phase, she added, was successfully completed by clearly presenting Srpska’s principles in both Moscow and Washington during a series of meetings. Now comes the phase of presenting Srpska’s truth to the wider global audience. Most importantly, Koljević said, the focus will be on reaffirming the original Dayton Peace Agreement, supported by Russia as one of its guarantors, which are simultaneously a position shared by all institutions of Republika Srpska that defends the original Dayton principles. "What matters most is that Russia will strongly advocate for an end to foreign interference in the internal affairs of BiH, and, very explicitly, for an end to the destructive actions of the OHR and /Christian/ Schmidt," she stated. Moreover, she believes this aligns directly with President Dodik’s appeal to Russian President Putin - that Republika Srpska must not be left in the hands of the Germans, Brussels bureaucrats, especially at a time when fascism is once again spreading across Europe and "war drums are beating." "In this context, the only realistic solution lies in a Russia–US agreement, to be supported by the majority of the free world," said Koljević, who is also a political philosopher. Koljević asserted that the West has failed to establish its hegemony or a world order based on so-called “rules”, which are, in fact, force, and has not resolved a single global issue. On the contrary, problems have only grown worse. She added that it is for these reasons that Russia is ready to present Republika Srpska’s report on the situation on the ground before the UN Security Council. "Of course, Russia has always been a traditionally friendly country to Srpska, and much has been done in the previous period to raise the level of relations and ensure Moscow is fully informed of all developments relevant to Banja Luka," Koljević said. However, she emphasized, this is about something even more fundamental , about the fact that international law, and the entire post–World War II order, was shattered by the 1995 bombing of Republika Srpska and later the 1999 NATO bombing of Serbia. Now, she said, the voice of that same Republika Srpska is returning to the most important global stage to be heard by all. "This is no longer just a symbolic matter or a question of cosmic justice, but rather a reflection of Russia’s correct idea that we must always ask about the beginnings and root causes of problems," Koljević said. She noted that the era of neoliberal force began with the use of force against the Serbs, so it is only natural that its collapse and the return to a just international order should begin from the same point. Reflecting on the Valdai summit, she said that given the gravity of the current global political moment, the gathering was extraordinary, and Putin’s address was historic.
